"That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God
is worked into something good." Romans 8:28 (MSG)
God is with you in the big things.
He hugs you when you cry alone in your room when you mourn the loss of someone you love.
He places a hand on your back and reassures you He will provide when you sit at the dining room table and there are more bills on the table than money in the bank account.
He stands beside you when you look with mouth gaping open at your house when it has been robbed while you were at work.
He is holding your hand when you are in the doctor's office and you receive one of the worst reports from the doctor.
He picks you up and carries you when you feel you can't go on...
God is with you in the little things, too.
He comforts you with a soft whisper of encouragement when a "friend" discourages you.
He instills confidence in you when you go for that new job position or promotion.
He reminds you of His patience when your children do not listen or do as you say.
He sends His guardian angels to protect your children while they ride their bike.
He listens intently when you pray to Him.
God is with us in the big things and little things. Only sometimes we forget that. Some of us only come to Him with our major life events or when all odds seem stacked against us...the big things. When we cry out to Him he listens and responds, but wants us to remember he cares about the little things too.
Some of us cry out to him for every part of our day and in all of our decision making. Then when something big happens, we run to our friends, family, doctors or pills and instead of showing our problem how big our God is, we do the reverse. We sometimes show our God, how big our problem is.
He knows. He saw it coming before you did. The Lord wants us to trust Him in not just the big or the little but in ALL things! Look at our verse for today:
"That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God
is worked into something good." Romans 8:28 (MSG)Everything that passes through our lives has to pass through His hands first. There is a reason and a purpose for it all. When we wonder why? or How is God going to get me through this...look at the preceding verses in Romans 8 starting at verse 26:
" ... the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God."
God never allows more to come to our lives than what we can bear. If it starts to feel like it is way too heavy, it is because we need to stop carrying it around and give it back to Him. Remember He says in Matthew 11:30 that "My yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Let's give him the big AND the little things. Because sometimes an accumulation of too many little things can add up to something big. The opposite of Matthew 11:30 would be something hard and heavy.
What are you carrying that is hard and heavy? Release it to the Lord, all of it, the big and the little things. You weren't meant to carry it alone anyways. He wants it and He will do far more imaginable with it than we could imagine!! He'll even turn it into something....GOOD! Don't believe me? Read Romans 8:28 for yourself again, and ask God to make that scripture come to life for you!
Thank you for reminding me of this verse tonight. God always comes through and He carries the burdens much better than I can. Love you, Mom
